Tug Hill Plateau in NY State has many free Nordic- cross country ski trails. Winona State Forest NY, alone, has a 50 km network of free groomed cross-country ski trails.
Tug Hill provides excellent cross-country skiing from December (after Hunting Season) to April.
The 1880 House B & B, Inn, is within a short drive to many favorite Cross Country Ski Trails:
